Meet Me Halfway: A Cinematic AI Music Video
AI music video direction for independent artists, with a consistent artist and full release visuals.
CINEMATIC MUSIC VIDEO / NARRATIVE DUET / 16:9
— OVERVIEW
Meet Me Halfway is a narrative music video for Polka.BLK, featuring Kaito Okafor - both in-house AI artists built and directed at Desilenced Design - made with a full cast, no crew, and no budget. It's a duet built on realism: two vocalists, lip-synced and believable, and a story that travels between separate lives before they meet in the middle. Studio, street, snow, a stage, a homecoming - multiple characters across multiple worlds, woven into one arc about connection. The point was to prove AI can carry a cast of recognisable people and an emotional through-line, not just one figure performing to camera.

Objective
Make an AI music video that carries a story and a cast - not a single performer in a single room. The brief was a duet with an emotional through-line: two distinct vocalists, each believable and consistent across their own scenes, and a narrative that moves between worlds and still holds together. Realism was the bar - the people and performances had to feel human enough to carry the song's emotion, which is the hardest thing to fake.
Approach
Build two real-feeling people and let the story travel. The film cuts between separate lives and locations - studio, street, snow, a stage - building toward the two vocalists meeting in the middle, the way the song does. It leans on lip-sync and performance rather than spectacle, holding an emotional through-line across the scenes instead of relying on a single set-piece. The hard part is the cast: keeping two distinct characters recognisably themselves across every scene, and human enough that the connection lands. Sustaining a believable cast through a narrative - not one performer to camera - is where the direction lives.
Outcome
Meet Me Halfway is the studio's proof that AI music video can carry narrative - a full cast, a duet, and an emotional through-line across studio, street, snow, and stage, the kind of multi-location, multi-character production that normally needs a crew, a budget, and a shoot schedule. Polka.BLK and Kaito Okafor are in-house, but this is exactly the kind of story-led video an independent artist or label would commission. It's the narrative end of what the music side can do.
— SELECTED FRAMES
Stills from across the arc - the two vocalists in the studio, the separate-lives scenes on the street and in the snow, the stage. They show the realism the video runs on, and the part that matters most: two consistent, human characters carried through a story that moves between worlds.
