A single artist lip-syncing to camera is the easy version; a choreographed ensemble, synchronised across cuts and consistent shot to shot, is the real test. The brief was to clear it: a polished, performance-led pop video with the staging and movement of a real production, built for an artist who needs to look like a headline act.
Approach
Glam, controlled, and built on the ensemble. The video stages Polka.BLK as a crowned pop lead and surrounds her with a synchronised dance cast, then escalates with the track - cuts quickening and formations growing as it moves through three worlds: a black mirror stage, a wind-swept white set, and a chrome-armour finale. The discipline is restraint - the choreography precise, the staging clean, so the spectacle reads as direction, not noise. The hard part isn't the lead; it's holding multiple dancers consistent across shots and moving them in formation while the lead stays locked to the choreography.
